Equity Maintenance Call (EM call)

What is an EM Call?
If a margin account places four or more day trades in a five-business-day period, it is flagged as a Pattern Day Trader. An EM call is triggered if the account equity falls below $25,000.

How to Resolve an EM Call:

  • Deposit Funds: Bring your account equity above $25,000.
  • Market Appreciation: Wait for market appreciation to raise your account equity above $25,000.
  • PDT Flag Reset: Use the one-time PDT flag reset offered by Webull.

Important Notes:

  • The EM call amount is calculated at the end of the trading day based on 4 PM ET closing prices.
  • The call cannot be removed intraday, even if a deposit is made or market value increases.
  • Any day trades made while the PDT reset request is processing will count towards your day trade count the following day, potentially leading to reclassification as a PDT.
