About SEM
Select Medical Holdings Corporation is an operator of critical illness recovery hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, and outpatient rehabilitation clinics in the United States. The Company’s segments include the critical illness recovery hospital, the rehabilitation hospital, and the outpatient rehabilitation. Its critical illness recovery hospital segment consists of hospitals designed to serve the needs of patients recovering from critical illnesses, often with complex medical needs, and its rehabilitation hospital segment consists of hospitals designed to serve patients that require intensive physical rehabilitation care. Its outpatient rehabilitation segment consists of clinics that provide physical, occupational, and speech rehabilitation services. The Company operates about 106 critical illness recovery hospitals in 29 states, 34 rehabilitation hospitals in 13 states, and 1,925 outpatient rehabilitation clinics in 39 states and the District of Columbia.
