Zhitong Finance App News, Starry Sky Chinese (06698) issued an announcement. Recently, the company officially launched the “100 Hong Kong Short Drama Program” with Beijing iQiyi Technology Co., Ltd. (iQiyi) and Hainan Happy Time Film Co., Ltd. (Happy Time Film Industry). The plan is to select 100 classic Hong Kong film IPs and carry out in-depth cooperation in the form of short dramas, covering various genres such as action, comedy, romance, police and bandits, to recreate the unique style and feelings of the golden age of Hong Kong films. At the same time, outstanding talents such as screenwriters, directors, and actors are publicly solicited from the whole community.

The Group owns and operates a huge Chinese film IP library, and has the copyright rights to 757 classic Hong Kong movies, including playback rights for all movie IPs, as well as the right to rip and remake some movie IPs. Through the secondary creation of skits, the company can maximize the value of more than 700 old movies, develop skit content that meets the needs of users in the short video era, revitalize classic IP, and at the same time attract more young viewers to experience the charm of Hong Kong films. At the same time, combined with iQiyi's high utilization users, it fed back the commercial value of the Group's film library in short dramas.

In addition to the existing variety circuit, the group launched a skit track layout to create a new ecosystem for Hong Kong short dramas. This cooperation is not only a strategic choice for the company to increase the value of its existing IP assets. In the future, it will also carry out in-depth cooperation with more platform partners. By activating a new business model combining classic IP movies and the skit market, we hope to create a sustainable development path with commercial value and classic heritage in the skit circuit, and jointly create a new ecosystem for Hong Kong short dramas.

In addition, the 4K restoration version of the classic Hong Kong film “The Ghost of Qian Nu” owned by the company will be screened in cinemas nationwide in the near future.
