The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced the establishment of North Lantau Marine Park on November 1. The move brings Hong Kong's protected marine habitat area to more than 8,500 hectares, helping to enhance the conservation of Chinese white dolphins and protect the marine environment and ecosystem of North Lantau waters. North Lantau Coastal Park is located in the northern waters of Lantau Island. It covers an area of about 2,400 hectares. It is the 8th largest marine park in Hong Kong. It helps mitigate the impact of the construction and operation of the Hong Kong International Airport three-runway system project on the ecological environment of Chinese white dolphins and fisheries.
