If you don’t have any trading ideas, it can be helpful to check out the news. Webull NOW provides an analysis tool, Market Watch, which allows you to view stock's news volume changes from the last 24 hours.
Market watch is displayed as a heat map under the "Explore" tab on the market page. You can intuitively find a stock with the most news directly on the map—the more news, the bigger the icon on the map.
As you can see, this tool can come in handy for investors that aren’t sure which stocks to trade. It can also help traders find new information and ideas before trading.
If you don't have time to read every news article relating to stocks you’re interested in, you can use market watch to view news sentiment instead. This way, you can learn how much of the news about a certain stock has been negative or positive in the last 24 hours. Moreover, if you are interested in stock from the map, you can make note to do more research on it before trading.
A stock with high volume news might have recently had important financial news released, like corporation actions, dividends, stock spilt, or an earnings report. By monitoring stock news, you can see this information in a timely manner and have enough time to react to the rapidly changing market.
After opening the tool, select the largest stock. You will be able to see how many news mentions this stock has had within the past 24 hours. Whichever stock is represented as the largest will have a higher news volume on that day. You can also see if the sentiment is negative or positive based on the TC calculation. This is only for reference, so be sure that you analyze the stock details carefully before choosing to buy the stock or not.
The Market Watch Tool gives you a more intuitive and easier to understand visual so you can learn and gain new information efficiently. To see what’s going on in the market news right now, check out Market Watch on the Webull App!
