Opening Your Account

What are the requirements to open an account?

• Residency: Must be a resident of the United States or its territories.
• Age: At least 18 years old.
• Personal Information:

- Full name

- Date of birth

- Phone number

- Email address

- U.S. residential address

• Identification: Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)
• Citizenship Status: Must provide citizenship status

Note: Additional documentation may be required depending on your specific circumstances.

I have a VISA. What VISA types are accepted?

At this time, E1, E2, E3, F1, H1B, TN1, O1 and L1 VISAs are accepted. Please note, these cannot be used as a replacement to identification documents.

How do I open a new account?

To open brokerage and retirement accounts, please follow the instructions provided for the Webull mobile app, website, and intuitive desktop application below:

App:
Existing User:

1. Navigate to Menu ➝ Settings ➝ Account Management ➝ Apply for new accounts
2. Select which new account you would like to open.
3. Follow the application prompts.

New User:

1. Tap Sign up
2. Enter your phone number or email address.
3. Tap to agree to the terms of service.
4. Enter the verification code sent your phone number or email address.
5. Create your login password.
6. Confirm your login password.
7. Tap Sign up
8. Choose your layout by selecting between our sophisticated trading platform or Lite trading platform.
9. Select Open account
10. Follow the application prompts.

Web:
Existing User:

1. Navigate to My Account.
2. Select Explore More Accounts.
3. Select the new account you would like to open.
4. Follow the application prompts.

New User:

1. Click Sign Up.
2. Enter your phone number.
3. Enter the verification code sent to your phone number.
4. Click the box to agree to the terms of service .
5. Create your login password.
6. Confirm your login password.
7. Choose which account you would like to open.
8. Select Open account.
9. Follow the application prompts

Desktop:

Existing User:

1. Click your account number (upper right).
2. Select the new account you would like to open.
3. Follow the application prompts.

New User:

1. Click Sign up.
2. Enter your phone number.
3. Enter verification code sent to your phone number.
4. Create your login password.
5. Confirm your login password.
6. Click Next.
7. Select Open account.
8. Enter your email address.
9. Enter the verification code sent to your email address.
10. Follow the application prompts.

How do I change my account type?

The option to change account types is currently unavailable. However, if you have a cash account, you can open a margin account, and vice versa. Follow the instructions in the section above to open a new account type.

I have a business. How do I open an entity account?

At this time, Webull offers entity accounts for LLCs, C-Corps, and S-Corps only. Current individual account holders need to create a new, separate login to open an entity account. Entity accounts require a minimum initial deposit of $100,000 and must maintain an ongoing equity balance of at least $50,000. You may submit your account application using the link below:
