Common Transfer Issues


Account type mismatch

The most common issue is an account type mismatch. For a transfer to be successful, the names on both the sending and receiving brokerage accounts must match. Additionally, if the account type at the delivering brokerage (e.g., cash or margin) does not align with the account type at Webull, the transfer may be rejected.


Transfer type mismatch

If you submit a partial transfer and select all assets from your delivering broker, the transfer will be rejected. To avoid this issue, please resubmit the transfer as a full transfer.


Incorrect account number

If an incorrect account number is provided, Webull cannot communicate with your delivering firm to complete the transfer. To ensure a smooth transfer, please use the account number exactly as it appears on your account statement. For reference, please see common account number formats from other financial institutions:

Eligible assets

If you attempt to transfer securities that are not supported or available for transfer on Webull, the transfer will be rejected. You can check eligibility here.


Minimum value

Assets transferred via ACATS into Webull should have a minimum value of $500. If your transfer is less than this amount, your transfer will be rejected.


Multiple transfer requests

If you submit multiple transfer requests while one is still in progress, your transfer will be rejected. Only one transfer request can be active at a time.


Insufficient Funds

If you attempt to transfer your account and do not have enough cash to cover the outgoing broker's transfer fees, the transfer may be rejected.


Unsettled trades

If you have a recent sale that hasn't settled, your transfer will be rejected. Your delivering account must have fully settled cash and securities before initiating a transfer to Webull.
